Placement is the Key to Oddity

Lately I’ve seen some odd things in odd places.

I saw a bowling ball on the side of the road.
The Girl had a pumpkin in her closet.
I found a shiny metallic Batman cape under The Boy’s pillow.

I have so many questions.

I imagine some kid realized he no longer needed his bowling ball for ballast and cast it aside in order to ride more freely and quickly.
I can only assume The Girl didn’t want her pumpkin to face the ordeals of another sham wedding, so she locked it away for its own protection.
Of course The Boy is a superhero by night.  Why else is he so sleepy some mornings, even though he goes to bed so early?

I guess it’s not so odd after all.

  1. Your blog cracks me up, Roshaunda — the line about the pumpkin’s ordeals makes me wonder what all that poor pumpkin has been through . . .
    Keep on writing!

    • Thanks Emily!.

This particular pumpkin nearly married another pumpkin in a rushed ceremony on my dining room table. The Boy was the officiant, and The Girl swooped in and saved her pumpkin from the throes matrimony. That’s just one of the pumpkin’s many stories. Oh yes, this pumpkin has been through quite a lot.
