I’m unexpectedly exhausted. I’m thrilled for Kamala Harris to be in the White House, but I didn’t know my quiet excitement would wear me out. I don’t have it in me to create right now, but I wanted to leave us with this.

Black women have always been in the White House – as slaves, mistresses, employees, and even spouses (Woot-woot, Michelle Obama!) – but now there will be a black woman in the White House, not as any of those roles, but rather as the Vice President of the United States of America. Let that settle in.

And that’s my bit of creativity for today.
