Libraries for All, Part 2

I’ve been watching, and grieving, as Trump has made plans to dismantle agencies that fund, forward, advocate, and protect programming and services I love and believe are vital in our society.  We’d be here all day if I listed all of the agencies and services on the chopping block, but I’ll list some of them.

National Endowment for the Arts
National Endowment for the Humanities
Minority Business Development Agency
Corporation for Public Broadcasting
Department of Education
Community Services Block Grants
Environmental Protection Agency
Institute of Museum and Library Services

Oh heck naw!  Not the Library!

I didn’t hear about the library cuts until today.  I’ve been processing the other cuts, and wondering what to do, and then I hear about the library.  Really?

In response to the proposed budget cuts, the American Library Association issued a press release calling the proposed cuts “counterproductive and short-sighted.”

So what is we gon’ do?

For starters, I’m going to pray.  I believe in respecting, honoring, and praying for our leaders.  I also believe prayer changes things.

And what else?  I don’t know, but I do know we all should use the tools we have at hand.
