I struggled last night during my writing time.  I just couldn’t get any words out, so I tried my hand at a different genre.

“I Would Write an Essay”

I would write an essay
But only if I could
Turn my words into play
And scamper through a wood

I would write an essay
If only I could think
Of anything at all to say
While I stare at my keyboard and blink

I would write an essay
If I could write what I know
But all my knowledge danced away
So off to bed I go
