I asked TB to tell his sister to come down to eat dinner. When he began to holler, I headed him off by reminding him that I asked him to tell his sister, not holler at her, which would involve his going upstairs to talk to her.
A moment later TB returned downstairs without TG, so I asked him if she was coming. He didn’t know.
Curious.
Then I asked him if he had actually told his sister, to which he responded affirmatively.
“Well,” I questioned, “did she hear you?”
“I think so,” he answered.
“Did she acknowledge you in anyway?”
“I don’t know. What do you mean?” he asked.
So I explained what I meant. And he replied.
“She said, ‘What?'”
Curious.
“If she said, ‘What?’ do you really think she heard what you said?” I asked. He stared at me, dumbfounded, until I told him to go back upstairs and get his sister.
