The other day my cousin posted a video on facebook about things women who have had c-sections can relate to. Having had two c-sections, I definitely related to most of what the women said, and in my head, I added many more anecdotes. However, of my mental additions, one sticks out the most.
I did not know one could glue and staple a body back together, but apparently it is possible, because that is exactly how my incision was adhered after my c-section. I recall thinking, “Well, at least they didn’t use duct tape,” and “What will happen to those staples?”
Concerning the staples, someone will take them out, slowly and uncomfortably, with a fancy medical grade staple remover, while you listen in fascination to the plink of each staple being deposited into a stainless steel bowl and wonder what will hold you together now that the staples are gone. And then you learn what will hold you together – steri strips; or as I call them; medical duct tape.
