Through the Eyes of a Child

A few sprigs of green peek through the pink carpet covering my front yard.  This time of year our two cherry blossom trees fill our modest front yard with spectacular color, both in the branches and on the ground.  I love looking out our front window to watch the display.

Apparently, I’m not alone in my admiration for the colorful explosion in our front yard.

The other day TG asked if she could go outside, and I said yes.  Although our front yard is moderately sized, our back yard gives the children lots of space to run and play, which they do often.  So I was surprised when TG amended her request and specifically asked if she could go in the front yard.  I said sure and asked her why.

“Because I like throwing the pink things in the air and letting them fall on me.”

I stood at the window a moment and watched, enjoying myself right along with her.
