I learned about a new concept today: an implementation dip. It’s the period after the initial success of something new, typically characterized by decreased success and outcomes. My colleague , the implementation dip guru, said that at the point of the dip many people and organizations abandon the plan and throw something new at the problem. She said what we should do, however, is ride out the wave that is the dip and discover what successes await us beyond it. Only then can we determine the effectiveness of the new program.
Don’t let your implementation dip get you down. Keep striving because it might just be too soon to quit.
