Art of the Comma

Today TG explained to me how a comma could save a life.  She explained the life-saving differences between the following two sentences.

It’s time to eat kids.
– and –
It’s time to eat, kids.

Obviously I was happy about her understanding of punctuation, but I was sad that she felt she had to explain it to me.  Oh well.  At least she’s learning the art of the comma.
