Having just spent a wonderful holiday with family, I would think I would be on an emotional upswing.  But I’m not.

Having just spent a wonderful holiday with family, I’m on an emotional downturn.  Perhaps it’s a case of the post-holiday blues, not to be confused with holiday blues, which present entirely differently.  But I don’t think so.

Having just spent a wonderful holiday with family I’m forced to face the stark contrast of reality – that so many things aren’t wonderful in the world.  That so many things aren’t wonderful in my country.  That so many things aren’t wonderful in my state.  That so many things aren’t wonderful in my city.

Sigh.

I wanted to write an upbeat post, but the ills of society haunt me just now.

Fortunately, we collectively have the power to make some inroads.  We can’t fight against everything.  We won’t win every battle.  But fight against injustice we can.

Well, what do you know?  Upbeat happened.
