I wish I had a better way to express my gratitude for your sacrifices and the sacrifices of your families.

I wish I knew different words to use to let you know I appreciate you.

I wish we lived in a kinder world where your vigilance and constant preparation weren’t necessary.

But I don’t have a better way; I don’t have different words; and I don’t have a kinder world.

What I do have, however, are gratefulness and prayers, which are with you daily.
