Why is it that my children only listen to me when I am not talking to them?
When they are a few inches away from me, looking directly in my face, and I have called them by name, they don’t hear anything I say. When I am on a different floor of the house, whispering to my husband, with my head under a pillow, they hear everything I have to say.
