Growth

I got two rejection notifications yesterday, and I’m pretty stoked about it.

One was for an article I submitted to an academic journal, and the other was a proposal I submitted to an academic conference.

I am so excited that I am writing to such an extent that I am shipping off submissions!

They say rejection letters are a rite (a write?) of passage for writers, so I guess I’m all in now.

I have written so much in the last year and a half. I’ve written three plays, two academic articles, two academic proposals, and a fantasy novel. Plus I’ve started several other projects. This is the most consistent writing I’ve done on pieces longer than blog posts and facebook posts. I’m so grateful to God for moving in me like this.

So, I’m excited for my growth. I’ll keep you posted.

Oh, and no, I haven’t finished editing my novel about Rahab or the book about my kids. I’ve learned that once I’ve stepped away from a project it is really, really hard to make myself go back to it. Apparently I still have room to grow. πŸ™‚
