Dear brain,
I’m sleepy.
I see you’re not concerned by that. Furthermore, I know you’ve never been concerned by that. While my body desperately wants to sleep, you stay up citing song lyrics, movie lines, and book passages. Sometimes you rehash conversations, usually funny ones.
I’m glad you’re not up worrying about life and societal ills, but goodness, it just can’t be worth it to stay up for such trivialities as these.
We’ve had this broken relationship for most of my life. I’m ready to try something new. What about you?
Seeking sleep,

I have been seeking a way to turn off my mind at night for decades. It was the primary motivation for me starting to practice yoga…It’s still hit and miss…and the hits are mostly an accumulation of fatigue….
I’m so sorry for you; I feel your pain. Heredity is interesting, isn’t it?
