I will indefinitely remain on facebook for one major reason.

I’ve always told my students if they ever want to contact me, they will be able to get a hold of me via facebook.  And it has worked.  I’ve had several students message me about any number of things, because it was an easy way to reach me.  I always want them to be able to find me if they need me.  Another positive spin to this is that I can keep up with them and see them as they marry and have children and have a positive impact on the world.

Now that my students are minors, I may need to rethink this strategy.  But for now, I’ll be on facebook for the long haul.  Or until it becomes woefully obsolete and my students all find a better way to keep in touch with me.  They’ll let me know when that happens.
