As I wrapped packages with TG’s assistance, TB read a book.  I don’t know what he read that sparked the following conversation.

TB: Mom, I don’t remember how to add fractions.  Will you teach me again?

Before I had a chance to respond, TG jumped in.

TG: I can show you.  I’ll show you.  Can you wait until I finish putting bows on this present?
TG: Sure.
TG: Good.  While you wait, you can get a sheet of paper.  No, two sheets of paper.  And pencils.  Two pencils.
TB: And that’s why we need homework packets over break.  Without them, you’ll forget everything and be behind when you get back to school.
