Last night before bed The Boy and I had the following conversation.
Me: Have you been flossing every day?
TB: Yes, because I can’t find the dental floss.
Me: So you haven’t been flossing every day?
TB: Yes, because I can’t find the dental floss.
Me: Did you floss tonight?
TB: I can’t find the dental floss.
Me: So, no?
TB: Not tonight, but I flossed every night until I couldn’t find the dental floss.
Me: So how long haven’t you been flossing your teeth every night?
TB: Since I couldn’t find the dental floss.
Me: How long has that been?
TB: Since I couldn’t find it.
Me: Did you try looking for it?
TB: No
Later that evening I regaled My Mother with the hilarity of her grandson.
Me: So your grandson told me, when I asked if he had been flossing every day, and I quote, “Yes, because I can’t find the dental floss.” That just doesn’t make any kind of sense.
MM: Of course it does. Clearly he would have been flossing every day if he had known where the dental floss was. Of course his answer was yes. What’s wrong with you?
Me: I guess I just have a personal problem.

Only *your* mother would respond like that. I think I might just miss her a bit.
She’s hard to get out of your system. 🙂
