Here is a random conversation I had with The Girl.
The Girl: Mommy, I think I’m going to be 7 feet tall when I grow up. Me: That’s not going to happen, Sweetie. TG: Why not? Me: Genetics. There are no women, or men for that matter, in our family who are that tall. Most of the people, both male and female, on my side of the family top out at 5’6″. They’re a little taller on Daddy’s side, but they’re not that tall. TG: But all things are possible with God. Me: You’re right, but just because God can do something doesn’t mean He will. Why do you want to be 7 feet tall anyway? TG: So I can build a skateboard the size of Mount Rushmore. Me: Really? Why would you want to do that? And why do you think being 7 feet tall will help you with that? TG: Why not? It would be cool to have a skateboard as big as Mount Rushmore. Me: Why? TG: Because it would be cool. Me: No one can build a skateboard as big as Mount Rushmore. TG: God can. All things are possible with God. Me: Yes they are, but why would God want a skateboard the size of Mount Rushmore? What good would that bring in the world? TG: Because it would be cool. And God can do it if He wants to, because all things are possible for Him. Me: Right you are.I’m daily growing to appreciate The Girl’s faith, her sense of wonderment, her creativity, and her ability to laugh in the face of impossibility.
