Father God, if I’m standing in the way of Your outpouring of blessings in my life, please move me. Get me in the place You need me to be, and help me to quit kicking and screaming while You do it. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Heavenly Father, it’s so easy to be inwardly focused. Help me to see those in need, and help me to fill as many needs as I can. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Oh God, my journey feels so hard. It would be so much easier to succumb to my temptations, but I’m trying not to, Lord. I’m really trying. You said that if I submit to You and resist Satan that he will flee. I don’t feel strong enough to submit and resist, but I’m holding strong […]
Your love overwhelms me, Lord. I’m awed by Your grace and soothed by Your mercy. I rest easy knowing You are omniscient and omnipresent. What other god knows everything and is everywhere? There is nowhere I can go that not only have you determined my footsteps but are there to guide me or carry me […]
I can’t help but thinking about how many times I’ve given up on myself, Lord, and that You’ve never given up on me once. Thank You for seeing good in me, even when I couldn’t see it myself. Help me to see myself and others through Your eyes. I ask this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, use me as Your hands here on earth, whenever, wherever, and however You see fit. Give me a spirit that responds, “Yes!” every time you call. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Lord, help me to show grace. While I’ll never match the grace You have shown to me, I can shower grace on those around me, but only with Your help. In Jesus’ name, amen.
God, I’m selfish, and I crave attention. I want the universe to revolve around me. Change my heart, Lord. Instead of seeing me, let people see You in me, so when the attention I seek comes, and when the world orbits me like a satellite, You will receive the recognition and glory, because You alone […]
Thank You for being a compassionate and loving God. Thank You for taking those qualities all the way to Calvary and remembering them when You were spat upon and whipped, when Your head was crowned with thorns and Your appendages nailed to a cross. Thank You for invoking them when I deserve anything but your […]
Today Lord, I’m thankful for quiet blessings. I love the loud blessings like healings and checkbook miracles, but I don’t want to forget about the quiet blessings like consistently good health and economic stability. Thank You for the daily blessing I take for granted, the blessings I’ve grown so accustomed to that I don’t even […]
So many people have a skewed vision of Christianity and consequently have a skewed vision of You. You are a God who loves everyone, and as Your people we should demonstrate that same love. Please forgive me for the times I’ve not represented You well. Forgive me for my words and actions that have pushed […]
Lord, sometimes I feel lost and directionless. I need Your marching orders. Where do You want me to go? What do You want me to do? Help me to look to You for direction in my life instead of to everyone else. You alone know the path You’ve mapped out for me, and how silly […]
Bless my children. And the other children in my family. And my friends’ children. And all of the children at my children’s schools. And all of the children in other schools. And children who can’t go to school. And children who aren’t old enough for school yet. Bless the children. All of the children everywhere. […]
Consistency is difficult. It’s hard to make myself do the same things over and over. It’s hard to build good habits when reverting into bad ones is so much easier. God, I just want to do Your will. Please help me to know it and give me the courage do it. I’m asking this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, I am so sorry for the times I’ve looked to other gods besides You. I’ve idolized family members, facebook, work, the internet, and all sorts of other things. Jesus, I’m looking forward to Your return. Until then, help me to stay on the course You have set before me, and help me to be Your arms, legs, hands, and feet here on earth. It’s in Your name I pray. Amen.

Please bless our leaders. Give them the wisdom to govern wisely, Lord. And in our own roles of leadership in our spheres of influence, whether great or small, please grant us the same. In Jesus’ name, amen.
Sweet Jesus, I’m thinking about my Lent sacrifices again. And thinking about them is all I seem to be doing. In past years I’ve stuck to my sacrifices, but I’m struggling this year. I think perhaps I decided what to sacrifice instead of allowing You to let me know what would honor You best. Thank […]
Lord, help me to be hard on sin (not just the ones that make headlines but the lesser publicized ones, like worrying) and soft on sinners (not just the ones who make the headlines but also the ones who don’t, like my family and myself). In Jesus’ name, amen.
God, for all of those who are mourning, bless them. Encourage them. Strengthen them. Comfort them. Let them know it’s ok to grieve. Help them to feel what they’re feeling. Reassure them that they don’t have to live up to anyone’s expectations for how they should grieve. And when grief swells up days, weeks, months, […]
God, thank You for grace. Sometime things just slip our minds, but You help us press on anyway.
Heavenly Father, today’s prayer is simple. Deliver us from evil, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
God, I need Your direction. Help me know what to do, where to go, what to say, how to live in a way that pleases You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

God, bless the students and educators. Spring time is so hard in the life cycle of academia. Going on break just makes it harder to come back, but we all need the break so desperately. Some days I just get weary, Lord. Help me not grow weary in well-doing. You said we will reap if we don’t faint. I’m relying on You and Your word in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Lord, sometimes I wonder if it’s worth it. The “it” to which I refer changes moment by moment, but even with my ever revolving door of “it”s, I wonder. I know it’s worth it, whatever and whenever the it is, if it brings You glory. If it helps my family. If it encourages someone. If […]
God, You gave us our precious children, and this world isn’t good enough for them. Help us to make it a better place for them if not for ourselves. In Jesus’ name, amen.
